N2 - In this paper, we first provide as accurate a picture as possible of transnational trade in human eggs involving Canadians (as providers, recipients, intermediaries or health care professionals). Second, we explain the legal status in Canada of trade in human eggs as it has evolved since 2004. Finally, we reflect on what Canadian authorities should do with respect to this transnational trade. This project is obviously significant for Canada as it relates to the conduct of Canadians in an area the federal government decided warranted very serious legislative intervention.
