Abstract
Cormier is one of the few decisions in which a Court of Appeal has begun to consider the actual workings of what we all still call the "new" self defence provision, though it has been in the Code for over four years now. Although it will take some time before a full understanding of the section can be said to have been achieved, Cormier does cast light on some issues.
