Abstract
Article 43 is the capstone of chapter 4 of UNCAC, which contains obligations regarding specific modalities of interstate cooperation in combatting corruption crimes - extradition, mutual legal assistance, transfer of criminal proceedings, and so on. The sound policy behind international cooperation in criminal matters generally, and specifically as regards corruption offences, is obvious and cooperation mechanisms have been a feature of all modern treaties geared towards the suppression of transnational crime.
